WINNER at the 45th Australian Songwriters Awards 2025

The 45th Australian Songwriting Awards, held on 4 December 2025, are regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in Australia for songwriters. Musicians from every state gathered with about 400 industry figures, friends and family at Sydney’s Hurlstone Park RSL to hear the winners announced in a dozen categories. ranging from pop and country to world music.
My song Walk with Me was shortlisted for best song in the country category. A few weeks before the Awards night, I was advised by the ASA Directors that I was one of eight nominated by them for one of the main awards of the night: the Rudy Brandsma Award for Excellence in Songwriting.
I was honoured and humbled to be named as the winner of that prestigious award which I was then asked to perform live. Accompanied on bass guitar by my nephew, Huw Charles-Walsh, we were blown away when at the end of the night the judges awarded our performance best live performance of the night, beating out the winners of the other categories who had all performed their winning entries.

I'm excited to share the video of my performance with Huw Charles-Walsh after winning the Rudy Brandsma award at the ASA Awards night in 2025.
Welcome to my website! I am a pop and country singer/songwriter who has been working in a non-musical career for most of my life but have always loved writing and performing. I have recently decided to concentrate on songwriting and have written and recorded three songs in 2025.
